 Leister and Brahms

My favorite Brahms cycle is Leister with Karajan from 63. The wind work is absolutely first rate and is a lesson in economy of style and blending.

It may not be to some people's taste, but the tonal palette is very rich.

I also like Solti in the 70s on Decca as a comanion set to this. These are great records for clarinet students in how adapatable and malleable the tone of the clarinet can be.

Sincerely

My favorite is with either NY Phil or London from late 50s or 60s.
