 measuring a barrel

How do you measure a barrel? I assume its the length from top to bottom, and I measure 67 mm on my current barrel(Bb clarinet). I'm interested in trying an Eddie Daniels barrel; do I order a 67 mm one? Anything else I have to specify when ordering?

First be sure the barrel rings are seated properly. The only trick,in my opinion, when using a vernier caliper is to be sure the axis of the barrel is perpendicular to both jaws since the barrel ends are different diameters.
