I'm looking for information on a FRHED stand. It's made for the oboe and hooks over the knee to support the bell. Specifically, I'd like to buy the clarinet version to help out with a non-playing related injury which resulted in surgey. Any suggestions would be helpful. Unfortunately, a neck strap is out of the question due to the same injury. THANKS!!

I'm not familiar with FRHED stands, but I know someone who is partially incapacitated, in a wheelchair, and we had a relatively simple contraption built, that I helped to design (I even patented it last year,) that hooks onto the arms of his wheel chair and protrudes out in front of it to support the bell at just the right angle.
I still have the original design somewhere (I haven't done anything else with it as of yet,) could probably find it in the next day or so and e-mail it to you. It cost us about $50.00 to have the components built for him by my welder and he is very happy with it, so far.
The only thing is that it requires a chair with arms built out of tubing, or some such, like a wheelchair, as it hooks under the back of the arms and rests on top of the front of the arms, making it readily removable without any tools being necessary to do so.
I’m sure someone else here will know just what a FRHED stand is and where to get one, but if otherwise, let me know about the other thing.

I have a FHred for my Bb and A clarinet and really like it! The only hassle is that for the better model you have to get a ring in your thumbrest if it doesn't already have one. The folks that sell FHReds are really helpful and nice. The device works like a charm. I'm sure they would let you return it for a full refund if you don't like it.
