Dealing with half.com new R13 dealer

I saw a new R13 for sale on half.com. It is a Bb and I want an A, so I sent an email to the person doing the selling.....they state they sell horns selected by a famous soloist located in Cal.
I have not gotten a response as yet...it has been 24 hours (I value prompt replies cuz "it's moi money" and I work hard for it) The price for the Bb was good.
Anyone here ever deal with them?

You're going to have to give us more information than that. Like for instance, what is the name of this dealer? eBay id is ok.

Give them a little more time. If they're a business they might not check their email but once a day and may have checked it right before you emailed. But, if they don't respond to you at all don't do business with them.

CPW, the feedback is good on this seller. However, I've never personally purchased anything from him/her--nor do I know anyone who has purchased from this seller. But, the price is pretty competitive with Woodwind and Brasswind (www.wwandbw.com), International Musical Suppliers (1-800-762-1116) and other online sellers whose reputation has a solid track record. You could get a comparable price from either of those two for an A with the option to return for a full refund. Before I would buy from someone who is relatively unknown I would call Lisa at IMS--she's a pro and can select a great A for you.

Also, there's Brook Mays Music (www.brookmays.com), and others who could give you a good deal.

I'm unfamiliar with Hakan Rosengren--so I can't add anything to that part of the question.

Häken is a good fellow and qualifies as a professional :) I've met him a couple of times, heard him, and watched him give a masterclass at CIM.

Hi,

I had an email from the same dealer in San Diego as I'm thinking about an R-13 in the spring and I thought the eBay price would be the best. But surprise, surprise, BWWW matches the price (or vice-versa) and I am 2 1/2 hours from them and 4 hours from IMS and I suspect they will match also so.....

Sometimes, it is good to live in the snowy, cold Midwest!

Hank

Why are all the good dealers in the Midwest?

Brook Mays Music will match any advertised internet price as well. And, thank God, I live within 5 miles of a Brook Mays store and can go pick one out anytime I need to do so. As an added bonus--I don't have to drive through ice and snow here in warm and sunny Texas.

Keep a lookout over yer shoulder, Brenda. We get mild 'twisters' in California - I would NOT like to be caught in a real one :|
Happy New Year to ya!
