 large bore clarinets, etc.

Hello All,
A couple of things....Number one: Santa brought me my large bore (Vienna bore) Rossi for Christmas which I am crazy about. The toughest part is only being able to play so few minutes a day. The question is this: What mouthpieces have any of you found you like with the big bore horns? I had Mr. Rossi bore one of my Hawkins. I like it, but I always like to experiment.

Number 2: The knee surgery went well although I can barely bend my knee (it has been 9 days since surgery). Thanks to all the well-wishers on that.

Number 3: Looking at new horn cases for my bass clarinet. Any of you use a DEG? I checked out their web site but can't tell if the case is for a bass with a low C.

Lots of stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Jean AKA Hopalong

I have a pair of big bore Peter Eaton Elites. Go to Peter Eaton's website at-

www.eatonclarinets@freeserve.co.uk

Peter makes lovely mouthpieces for his "International" and "Elite" clarinets. It's a very interesting site generally.

Regards,

Bob T.

I perform on mouthpieces made for my large bore (English) Rossi by Peter Eaton, Ed Pillinger and a few old B&H mouthpieces refaced by Gervase De Peyer.

For the Pillinger I perform on a 1930s style with an A-frame throat and large chamber.

Congrats on the Rossi's, I can only comment on my mp searching for 15.0 mm '50's Selmers and LeBlancs. My most recent success was in discovering that a Yamaha 4C plays very well on my LeB Dynamic 2 [the H and the Petes look to me to be the same], better than others including a refaced glass, which is actually larger bore than the barrel top!, contrary to my expectations! Keep trying, Don
