Hi,
Working on the debussy at the minute. Anyone got any advice on recordings, performance etc?
I have the recordings of:
Emma Johnson
Sabine Meyer
Victoria Soames
Gervase de Peyer
Antony Morf (never heard of him before its on a cd called the Magic of the clarinet on the Erato record label.
All info would be appreciated. (I have looked at the study section on woodwind.org)
Thanks
Rob

I really like the recording that Franklin Cohen has with the Cleveland Orchestra. I don't care for his orchestral stuff, the Debussy solo is one of the better ones out there. For my favorite recording with piano, it has to Karl Heinz Steffens. I think the CD is titled Blue Rondo.

There was an extensive discussion about performing and performances of the Debussy Rhapsodie a few weeks back.
If you click on search, then select "last 90 days" and perhaps enter the words smith, debussy, rhapsodie, there is a discussion that may be informative to you. I can't copy the link to this thread at the moment. Perhaps others will.
