I found this interesting gear to enhance instruments' responses "greatly"(he saids) at http://www.dmamusic.org/acousticoils/index.html

Does anyone tried this? Very curious.

Hiroshi-

I must be missing something. The AcoustiCoil appears to be a flimsey piece of plastic that fits inside your instrument. I imagine it would change the way your instrument plays.

What bothers me is the price. The device would seem to contain a few cents worth of plastic. Yes, an injection mold might cost around $2000 to make, but it would then be used to produce hundreds of thousands of identical parts before wearing out.

The change in your instrument might be unpredictable. Some people might notice an improvement, but others might find that some notes were stuffy-sounding, and some were out of tune. It will cost you $35 to find out!
