I just bought one of these. My first mouthpiece in a couple of years.
Here's what I like about it. The tone is really nice. Staccato is so much easier. Reeds work better with it.
Heres what i didn't like. The sound is smaller compared to my richard hawkins. And altismo D is thin.
Just curious what others thought of it.

I am not sure whether or not the market could sustain another design, hoever, from what I have heard from various colleagues the M30 is supposed to be quite a great sounding piece.
I have not personally tried or heard one of these, I would like to ask whether or not the sound is bigger or smaller than the B40 which is the counterpart? I know for example the B40 is far louder than the 5RV Lyre and projects with a fuller sonority....

I did a mouthpiece trial in early summer on the M15, 5RV-lyre, and B45-dot. None of these mouthpieces come close to sounding as good as a Hite D. The Hite D is about 25 dollars more expensive though mail order.

Clarence -
Give the M30 a shot. It's actually working out for me. I like it and have adjusted for it. I'm sure your hite is a fine mouthpiece but try this one too.
Personally, the m30 reminds a hawkins or a smith mouthpiece. It's really nice. It plays like a handmade mouthpiece.

James,
I don't own a Hite D, but did a mouthpiece trial about 6 weeks ago on the Hite D, Gigiotti P34, and the Hawkins Std. All of these mouthpieces sounded and played better then any Vandoren mouthpiece I have played. All of these mouthpieces have higher resistence then Vandoren mouthpieces.
If Vandoren could produce a mouthpiece with the low Vandoren resistence and the higher sound quality of these mouthpieces, They would have a winner.
