I have performed the mozart a couple of times! I can't believe I didn't know the brahms, i am going to music college next year, its shocking really!

I heard the stolzman recording with the tokyo quartet. Would like to hear peoples opinions on this recording.

Stolzman recordings always lead to interesting and sometimes heated discussions.
He has this very particular sound and interpretation that many clarinet players don't like.
I am not judging his particular recording because I've only heard it once, but I suggest you also get a hold of the more "standard" interpretation given by d dow. I personally love the carbonare, leister and wright.
Note that I did not tell you to get rid of the Stoltzman ;->

Dear Syvain:
I heard Mr. Wright play the "Brahms", in person, and in rehearsal as well as the fact he coached me on this piece. he really felt the piece was the most difficult in the entire repetoire. He also felt that it required mental and emootional maturity which only older students could give.....
