Sylvain- thanks for the article. I must say that it bothers me that "arguably the foremost living exponent of his instrument" doesn't seem to know much about clarinet history. Stoltzman made the following untrue statements in the interview:
"Mozart, in one stroke of genius, took the clarinet, which was basically a brand new instrument that had only been in existence for 40 or 50 years"
"None of the clarinets from that period (1791) have survived"
