Where is a good place to try to determine the value of an older horn? I am trying to help a friend of mine sell his, and have no idea what to tell him as far as what to ask for it. Thanks.

Go to e-Bay and look at what is being offered and the price ranges asked. Then click in on the "completged auctions" and see how many folk got what they asked.

If its a clarinet, get into the woodwinds section, then type clarinet into the search box, this will bring up only clarinets. Then type the brand name of yours into the search box and this will bring up only clarinets like yours.

If he does decide to sell on ebay set a resever price. That is the lowest price one wil accept for an instrument. NO sense in giving it away. Or if he wants to give it away I believe there is a program through VH1 where you can donate a horn. Perhaps the tax break will be a better choice. The end of the year is fast upon us...time to get all the deductions taken care of.
