This clarient was passed down to me. It's a Bb, can someone tell me something about it. Value, age, is it worth keeping? Thanks, JD

From right here on Sneezy, http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Selmer.html, it shows that #6525 was made between 1929 & 1931.

Whether or not it's worth anything is unknown; it depends on the intonation, pads, mechanic, just like a new instrument. We can statistically figure it won't crack at this point unless physically mistreated, so that's a plus.

Selmer has made excellent clarinets for many years. I have an old "full Boehm" est'd about 1920, and a 17/6 P 2xxx [1954]. Does yours have a letter preceding the ser. no. ? It is necessary to know so as to consult the # 's lists. Yes, in my opinion you should definitely keep even if its repair costs seem large.

Well theres no letters after the serial #. Now what does that mean now? I know for a fact that it hasn't been played since 1977. Its been put away.
