Well, since some folks won't toot their own horn, so I'll do it for her.
Last nights premier performance of the recently formed Texarkana Community Band, The Second Time Around Band, went off without a hitch to a capacity crowd.
As it was Veterans Day, the music was a tribute to Veterans. And a pretty good tribute it was. These folks, in my opinion, did a real fine job. The music was good, and a good time was had by all that attended.
The clarinet section was superb. I was told that one of the older clarinet players was only 73 yrs young. And he was not too shabby for an older guy. Gives me hope. But truthfully, I found myself listening more to the brass section. They were a little louder. <g>
Congratulations to Becky, you guys were good, and I really enjoyed the program. Looking forward to your next performance in December.
Hopefully, with lots more practice I will be able to join you guys next year or so......

73 years young, and not too shabby to boot. Maybe there's enough hope to go around for all of us. Hang in thee with the brasses. Nice review. Chuck

Hey Jim!
Thank you so much. It was really a good time, and it went by all too fast. I can't wait for the next performance.
It was really a joy to meet someone from the BB in person.
I am really glad you could attend. I look forward to you joining The Second Time Around Band. (I really haven't gotten used to that name yet.)
Oh.....I must say that it was an awesome experience ..............and then I get home..............and have to fix the toilet tank refill valve...... And then 11/12/02 at 11:11 p.m. I became a Grandma!!!!!! LIFE........isn't it wonderful. It was a girl by the way. 8 lbs. Beautiful as ever.
How's that for tooting a horn. haha
Have a Great Day.
Becky

"Second Time Around" Band??? (Catchy name) Up here in the Badger State we have the "New Horizans", "Soon To Be Famous", and "Garbage" bands (among other "cheezy" name choices). Our two main Madison adult bands are named the "Municipal Band" and the "Capitol City" bands--not too original for titles but we have fun!!!
But more importantly, many congrats on your bands recent successful debute, and your new title as "Granny." One wonders what great things your next concert will bring??????

My parents are part of a "New Horizons" band in their hometown of Corsicana, Texas. They call themselves the "Grateful NOT TO BE Dead".
