 Clarinet Polka Music

Hi -- I am looking for some clarinet polka music for Mindy to play. She just enjoys playing polka music (actually only listening to it since we don't have music) and I would like ot surprise her with some polka music that she and I can play together -- I play piano. Since she frequents this board often, I know she will see this but if you will be so kind as to respnd to my email that way she won't have any idea that I have actually "found" a source for polka music. If you are inclined to wrinte on the board -- that is fine -- she will think I am not getting it for her anyway since as a "typical" teenager she thinks that I "never get her anything" -- hhmm -- what does 6 clarinets sound like -- NOTHING?!?!?!?!?! oh well --- I love her just the same. Please help me find some polka music for clarinet and piano -- I would appreciate it very much!
Thnakyou

Hi, Mindy's Mom. Haven't seen you for a while. Nor Mindy, either. Do tell her hello from us, and we hope she's progressing well.
Regards,
John

Yes -- I will do that -- we hav ebeen VERY busy and I have had to lower the amount of time that she has been allowed on the computer -- practice was suffering --- she made all-state adn tonight she had auditions for all-county.
Thanks for the warm words of encouragement. Mindy has really enjoyed her time here and will continue for a long time.

You could try Ernst Mosch in Germany or Slavko Avsenik and the Original Oberkrainer who was popular in Austria although from Slovenia. Both of these band leaders have published polka music but it won't specifically be for clarinet and will require adapting. I am sure there is a heap of Polka music in the USA. Lawrence Welk used to record polka's I believe and so did the Andrews Sisters, for example the Pennsylvania Polka.

I have several "German Band" book sets, much of which are polka tunes. The "Little German Band Book" with parts for up to some 12 insts is all polka, arr. by K Echtner, $ 1 per book [back when!] pub. by Vitak-Elsnic , Downers Grove IL. See if you can buy, borrow-steal a 1st cl book, [the set has a C Insts. book] and see if it "works". Don
