I would like to learn more about Gustave Langenus and his mouthpieces. Can anyone recommend sources?

In one of the last few issues, the Clarinet magazine had an article about Langenus

I was once told that Gus got the "biggest sound" in New York City and played on a #1 strength reed. I do believe reading that he was a double lip artist.

Langenus performed the Mozart Quintet with the Budapest Quartet at the Library of Congress in the late 1940s or early 50s. The concerts was recorded and came out about a year ago, I think on the Bridge label. He had a very powerful sound. If he was playing on a # 1 reed, it was certainly on a wide open mouthpiece. I found the performance quite good -- very much worth listening to -- but lacking the last bit of nuance.
Best regards.

I just aquired a 1930 martin Alto sax in pretty nice condition. Inside was a reed cutter in a nice leather pouch with G. Langenus on it. I believe its for sax reed cutting. Anyone know if it is valuable or where it might have come from?
