John Bruce Yeh has recorded Easley Blackwood's "Sonatina for Piccolo Clarinet (i.e., eefer) in F"

(Which I guess would make it an effer for eefer ;^) )

The recording was for Cedille Records.

It is still available at:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000018ZC/qid=1036593314/sr=1-17/ref=sr_1_17/102-7293603-9016968?v=glance&s=classical

Unfortunately, there are no online excerpts. IMHO, it is a great piece for the instrument.

If you want to hear some other "high clarinet" music, check out a recording of the Molter concerti. They are for clarinet in D. (a deefer?)

Best regards,
jnk

Morrigan,
so you have an Eeffer but no A clarinet. I think you got your priorities mixed up, especially now as you are doing auditions for orchestras!! I have used my A clarinet much more in paying gigs than my Eefer.

Not mine, just the one on 'extended loan' which I have used all year... Compared to 2 weeks where I borrowed an A clarinet. Relax, I'm getting an A soon enough.

excellent, I am pleased. Good second hand A clarinets can be picked up fairly cheaply here in Australia. Dont rule out a second hand one as most have been used lighty, as is the nature of them. One of my students picked up a pair of old Selmers (the b flat is a centred tone) for $1100AUS.
