I saw that Eb clarinet on Ebay...actually I have a students who has a Jeuffrey clarinet. She said that her dad played it when he was in high school and he bought it when it was 40 years old. I can't find any information on the web about these clarinets. It's wierd - the emblem is the same as the Buffet - the little circle with Paris. Are they good clarinets? Thanks!!!

My son, Kenny, has a Jeffrey clarinet that he "inherited" from my brother. I read somewhere that it was made by LeBlanc. The clarinet is nearly 40 years old. It is a wood horn with a nice warm sound. Although it is now his backup horn it served him well during his formative years

I don't know if Jeffrey ever made anything other than student models, but the one I have is from the late 40s or early 50s and plays pretty good. The orriginal mouthpiece was less than desirable, so I play it with a VD 2RV. Its not top of the line but its still way above some of the cheap junk being dumped on the US market right now. The logos do resemble the Buffet logo, but the left hand pinky keys caught my eye right away. The touch pads are the same shape as found on most bass clarinets.
