I have a wooden Hoosier clarinet and have a little info about it and the company but would appreciate any more information that i can get my hands on because I am trying to estimate the age of the clarinet and its worth.I am not a woodwind player but do have a music ed. degree so i am interested in this instrument if it is of any value.Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

amelia: The best way to search for information here is first to try a search for hoosier, and you will unearth the little information that has been posted in the past. I just took a look, and the only thing that rather stood out was one poster's mention of a "Pedler Hoosier" Clarinet, which appears to identify the builder. Good luck.
Regards,
John

"Hoosier" clarinets refer, of course, to my native (US) state of Indiana and the instrument maufacturing that grew up around the city of Elkhart. Your clarinet is, like mine I suspect, a Pedler "model" worth not much more than any other student to intermediate model of a generation or two ago.
