I use Glotin 3 1/2 reeds which I order from woodwind and brasswind. However, they've been backordered since I placed an order TWO AND A HALF months ago, and are predicted to be for some time! This, obviously, is not working for me because I have no more reeds!! I have tried several other brands including vandoren, rico grand concert, mitchell lurie, and pretty much everything else that's out there but the Glotin are the only reeds that work for me and I'm out. What's going on here and where can I manage to get these reeds fast since my local music stores don't sell them? Is the Glotin company going out of business or something? Thanks so much for any advice.

Well, my reeds aren't even produced anymore. My advice is to try some other reeds, and use a good second choice as a backup. What kind of mouthpiece do you use? That would help us all to help you. Sandra

I normally don't do obvious plugs for sponsors, but right now the US dollar goes pretty far in Canada!

If only one brand and strength of reed work for you, I'd suggest working quite diligently on becoming more flexible. Otherwise you are going to have problems every now and then..
Note in Mitchell Luries, you will often need a higher stremgth than in other brands. The strength numbers are not absolute values but vary from brand to brand.
You might also try Lavoz and Oliveri.
Personally I would suggest retrying the Mitchell Luries but in a number 4.

This week, I had to call four music stores to find a box of V-12s in 3.5. I usually can find them easily. The stores said that Vandoren just hasn't been shipping V-12s recently (they all had the traditional reeds).

What do you suggest by way of Glotin Groove reeds? They're supposed to be jazz reeds but they seem to work for me in 3's as the regular Glotin do in a 3 1/2. Does that suggest I'm doing something wrong? And also, what about Gaia reeds made by Glotin? Thanks!
