 Lafleur

Some 10 years ago i bought a wooden B&H Lafleur made in England. The bell hasn't got the metal ring on it and the keys are cast iron, I think, because once they brake can't weld them. The instrument has a good tone quality and used to play beautifully. It is avery old instrument as it came in a case which the horn can only be stored in two pieces.

Can some of you tell me if you have had them and what your thoughts are on these horns?

Many thanks
Simon from Australia

Simon - Mark Pinner (a poster here) is quite knowledgeable on clarinets (amongst other things) and he's a repairer I use. You might chase him down and email him. (He's in Sydney).

hope this helps

The keys are probably cast "pot metal" which was used on student quality instruments.

Zinc alloy, not cast iron...
