I have acquired a Selmer Centered Tone Clarinet but a friend has told me that the bell is not the original because it is stamped while stamped with Selmer Paris has an additional stamp which says "Sole Agents US and Canada Selmer New York Elkhardt
While the upper and lower joint have "Centered Tone" on them.
Appreciate anyones advise

"Centered Tone" appears only on upper joint. Never seen that mark on the lower joint????
"Sole Agents US and Canada Selmer New York Elkhardt" is just an indication that horn was imported to US or Canada and has nothing to do with bells originality. I've seen "Centered Tone" with and without that engraving on the bell and they all were original.

The old "Centered Tone" Selmers did not have engraving on their bells. That was a feature of the (higher priced) "Omegas", Selmer's (then) equivilant of today's Buffet Prestige. The Omega line featured interchangable register vents as one of their "
extras."
