Mark - wow - I love the "new look" woodwind.org page - I'm glad you've gotten rid of the grey background - it was a little overpowering. Also your new logo is cute (well done to the person responsible, very nice indeed).

There's more coming over the next few weeks ... the BBoard will have the new look & feel 1st.
The logo was designed by Anita Cook. It'll be changed slightly (right now it's been shrunken from a much larger proof, and we need to get some of the proportions right in the smaller format).

Mark
It then occurred to me the your beautiful new (very colourful) logo is a view from above - with the performer wearing a rather large round hat and his/her (many) instruments poking out simultaneously?

diz...I think that the middle "large round hat" you refer to, might actually be the bell of a saxophone.
Thus, the logo would represent all 5 woodwind instruments.
It's ok - it took me a while to initially see it...GBK

I think the "brief" was a woodwind quartet (horn not sax) but I could be wrong.

Saxophone??? Saxophone??? We don't need no steenkin' saxophone!
(apologies to saxophonists around the world and to the memory of "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre") (grin) (there are already enough sax sites)
Bell of a horn! The 5 instruments of the WW5 - though the horn is not really a woodwind, of course, it has honorary placement. And someday it's own section here.
