I recently found a metal clarinet, artist model, made by Paramount of Cleveland, Ohio. I know nothing about it. If you have any info, please e-mail me. My wife and i are very curious about the instrument. Thanks

Despite the name "Artist Model" it is probably one of the many brands of student grade metal clarinets that were once produced by the ton.

I agree with Dee [and Jack re: the ? Is it worthwhile to have it overhauled?]. The major inst. maker [ maybe only one] I know of in Cleveland was/is? H N White who made many insts with the "King" etc names in the 1900's. Luck, Don

Even if only a student horn, I would get a playing overhaul just to have a working piece of clarinet history.

Try some searches on "metal clarinets" and "Silver King" although it's not a King (could be a stincel from HN White as Don hinted at), there is some good reading material under these threads. Sorry to say I don't know anything about your Paramount.
I just got my Silver King back from a repad, it still needs a bit of set up work, but it blows sounds great.

I have a metal Eb clarinet made by Haynes in 1920. It playes great. Haynes only made 400 Eb & Bb metal clarinets.I don't know how many of each.
