Chedville Mouthpiece Identity

I have obtained a mouthpiece that has "Chas. Chedville" written in script with "Paris" directly underneath it, "Made in France", along the bottom, and and what looks like an "8" There are two lines going around the top and two around the bottom.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me identify whether the mouthpiece is open or closed, what strength reed woud be recommended, what the 8 signifies (perhaps model and any other information availible.

I did a search on the site but could not find the information I am looking for. Thanks again for any help.

Are there any other markings, either up the side of the table, or just above where the insignia would be on a Selmer mouthpiece? Where is the name printed?

There are the letters C/C in a rectangular design where the insignia would be. That is all I could find except for what I have previously described.
