Does anybody know what the line, "Psst-it's the 'emborchere', 'tongue', 'tonguing', 'rhythm', and 'Scheherazzade'" means? For the past several months I have seen that and am bewildered. I have heard the whole Scheherazzade before but isn't emborchere, tounge, tounging, and rhythm supposed to be used for all pieces?

its just a reminder to help with spelling. (by the way, i have to laugh at asking the question and writing 'Scheherazzade'... - no offense or anything!)

Our local symphony did "Scheherazade" this Saturday, and it was misspelled on the TV commercials. I think I was the only one who noticed. Thanks, Mark!

Robert, I believe the difference is between placing general friendly reminder at the top of page for everyone to use and correcting a specific person about a specific misspelling (or grammatical or punctuation error, etc.). The former is not directed at anyone in particular whereas the latter, directed at a particular individual, can be considered offensive and rude.
Those words, by the way, are ones that seem to be most frequently misspelled on the board.

Oops, I suppose I looked at it wrong. My computer ALWAYS displays things super tiny.
No, seriously, why is it up there?

Seriously, see Don Poulsen's serious post above, particularly the second paragraph, and William's "tunge"-in-cheek posting just below it.
Psst - it's spelling reminders for those who care.

I agree. If you care about music, you try to play the notes beautifully, in the right order, with the right accents, in tune and without squeaks. More or less same is true about words for those who care about language.
