I'm just listening to 'Deep Purple' again (rec 12.03.39)
and I'm wondering whether Shaw and Forrest made
more of this sort.
Any recommendations of CDs or Songs?
Thanks

There's a CD from Charly Records LTD (UK), CDCD 1204, called Artie Shaw, Concerto for Clarinet. It Has 20 numbers on it. Helen Forrest is featured on "Day in Day Out", "All The Things You Are", and "Deep In A Dream".

Helen Forrest recorded 44 songs during the 15 months (1938-1939) she sang with the Artie Shaw Orchestra.
The recordings with Shaw, which included "All the Things You Are", "Between A Kiss and A Sigh", "Melancholy Mood", "Bill", "I Poured My Heart Into A Song", "A Room with A View", and "My Reverie"
are all widely available...GBK

In 93' Hindsight Records released a 3 cd box set of live Shaw recordings (radio) titled "King of the Clarinet" HBCD-502. There are 16 tracks with Helen, many are previously unreleased. I'm not sure if it's still in print though. You'll have to check around.
