 which hawkins?

I've tried some hawkins mouthpieces, and I really like them, but I didn't pay attention to the models. Is the standard much different from the more expensive model? I'd like to spend less money, but which one is brighter? I'm looking for a brighter piece.

They are both very good models. I really don't think one is considered better than the other, there is only a difference in price. If you go through enough hawkins mouthpieces you will find the one you like. Hawkins is known for having a wide variety.

There are BIG differences between the regular Hawkins mpc and the "B" mpc. Check out his website:

If you deal directly with Richard, I'm sure he will send you several to audition. Also, why don't you just give him a call? He might help you select the right mpc to start with based on your set-up and requirements.
