Bulgarian clarinetists favor Selmer S10's - they say it has a "big sound". I believe that Ivo Popasov plays on an S10, as does Katherine Foster of Yuri Yunakov's band.
Has anyone has compared the S10's to the new S10II's?

Bucharest is Rumania, Sophia is Bulgaria! And by the way Ralph, the 10SII is not new. It's been around for a while and is now being discontinued to be replaced by the Odyssée (at least in Europe).

I had a 10S and now plays 10SII. Although their names seem
siblings with each other, they are different types of horns.
The 10S is more free blowing than 10SII, which some people feel rather stuffy although its tones are uniquely dense core.
Provably the bore size is different too: maybe buffet>10S>10sII>Recital.

WEll, I just found this thread, and since I met Ivo last weekend in Chicago, I can tell you his horn is a Selmer Series 10S. I've met Catherine too but I don't know what specific model Selmer she has. Now my question...what do the letters after various Selmer Series 10 horns mean???
