you could try Jimmy Yan (JY Woodwinds) on West 54th Street - he makes his own mouthpieces, so chances are he can reface yours

Virgil Blackwell lives in Westchester, and is a great bass clarinet player. He studied mouthpiece refacing with Glen Johnson in CA.

Sadly, Glen is long gone. He died years ago, after an illness.
Virgil studied mouthpiece refacing with him many years ago, while Glen was still active in the LA film and recording scene.
Glen is missed by all of us who knew him.

Glen was in sympathy with a union dissident group perhaps called the Guild, probably in the early 50's or late 40's. As a result, he may have lost standing in the union and worked significantly less. Since he lost a leg in a hunting accident, his mobility was also somewhat limited. I remember him from the middle 50's and later and learned about mouthpiece refacing from him which I do for myself. He was a legendary figure in Los Angeles and is still talked about by many people.

I had several pieces refaced by Glenn in the early 70's. He was a master at his craft and was a very nice man.By the way, it's (Johnston).
