Help.. I am looking for information as to the origins of a Loveri silver(plated) clarinet. The only other marks are 118A at the top.
I would like to restore this instument to hang on the wall,but have no idea of its worth or history.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Sorry, can't add anything else other than it may be a stencil job and not specially valuable.
Still, if it's just going up on a wall, you can probably just bang out the worst dents, wallop a bit of polish over it and end up with something cosmetically reasonable, without going overboard on a full restoration that would have been better spent (and cheaper) doing up an old P51D.

No reference in Langwell, so probably Loveri was a brand, not company name. No collectors value. Might be restorable.
the problem with using silver plated instruments as wallhangers and lamps is that they tarnish easily. Once you shine them up, you need to lacquer them. i

My brother is the one that was asking about the LOVERI clarinet...he has restored it for me and it looks GREAT!!!! There were no dings or dents and believe it or not..it actually plays. Of course it has been years since I have played but I can get nice sounds out of it. He even restored the case so it will not be going on the wall. It will be displayed on a table. Thanks for responding to his questions.
