Gary's got the Drapkin book on his site:
Symphonic Repertoire for the Bass Clarinet by Michael Drapkin, Roncorp Publications, SS, 68 pages. This book includes 36 excerpts selected from the standard symphonic literature, some more obscure works with noteworthy bass clarinet solos, and additional pieces that frequently appear on addition lists. Composers include Gershwin, Mahler, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky and more. An number of the excerpts are in bass clef and several are for bass clarinet in A.

Thanks John. I was a bit surprized when I visited the first site you gave. Gary must be quite the "renaissance man" being an musical artist in the tech world. I will certainly check his collection out.
Mainly, I am looking for the famous Groffe bass clarinet solo--I have an idea of incorporating it along with "Till" and "On Wisconsin" in an arrangement for bass clarinet of the Clarinet Polka with I would like to perform with a local concert band next summer as a novelty solo. I know--only in America's Dairyland.....

The Drapkin book has the bc solos from (movement) 2. Painted Desert and 3. On the Trail. I think that On the Trail is what everyone remembers.
I am probably the opposite of what you said above: a tech guy (whose skills have been a bit dulled by being in management) plus an amateur clarinetists (whose skills have been more than a bit dulled by working on the book business instead of practicing).

Where I might be going at any particular moment may be another matter for discussion.....but thanks again, Gary and John for your kind help. (back to my long tones.......)
