ok guys help me out here...
Im getting ready to purchase a new buffet horn. I am looking seriously at the prestige which most of my friends play on. Looking at the various models I have come across the elite...is it gimicky? Does it play well and at that does anybody actually play on one and would you endorse it? I know what the specs are in comparisoon to the presitige but am wondering what you guys know...

Thanks,
Aaron

To me the Elite seems to be a little "soft" and may be restricted to chamber music. But that's my opinion. Fact is that the Elite is not played by many clarinettists. (I don't know a single person playing on one.) Try the Festival also. It is really good. Personally I prefer the Festival over the (RC) Prestige.

Success,
Jeroen

The elite clarinet was designed in conjunction with Michel Arrignon for more flexibility. It is more of a chamber music instrument, although I am aquainted with an Elite owner. He is Julian Milkis and a soloist from russia. He used a Chedeville mouthpiece with it and he had absolutely no problems projecting. In fact he had a wonderful sound on it...

Whether or not it is gimmicky, I have no idea. They are expensive and like any model may or not be suited to you. It would also be ideal if you could test one before any purchase. As to price I believe they are very expensive. Best luck DD

Michel Arrignon and Romain Guyot don't use Elite clarinets any longer.

Both are now using Festival.

Best regards
