Selmer recently issued a Soloist mouthpiece, which is a copy for their old Soloist for Alto Sax.
I have an old Soloist mouthpiece and compared them. I found new one's tip shape does not match with that of ordinary Alto-Sax reed, whereas the old one matches it precisely.New one's tip shape is somewhat sharper round. The mouthpiece tip comes out from the reed center if I try to match the corners!!!
Why does this happen? They should be twins!
Then I was reminded that for clarinet mouthpieces this happens very often these ten years. In the past the shape of reed trimmed by a Cordia reed trimmer matched with almost all mouthpiece tip shapes.

Hiroshi...Interesting observation, I'll have to check the older and newer Soloist mouthpieces.
It seems that the recent trend by manufacturers is to either change the mouthpiece tip shape, or the tip shape of the reed.
As you know, approximately a year ago Vandoren "flattened" the tip on their reeds...GBK (who will this time refrain from airing his feelings about the newer Vandoren tip shape)
