Does any one know the grade level for Brahms Second sonata Op 120, No. 2, Allegro amabile??? here in maryland we use level 1-6 (1-the easiest, 6- the hardest) thanks

In New York, both Brahms' Sonatas have been deleted from the NYSSMA Manual.............good reasoning.

I didn't know they were deleated but the Sonata Bb is asking about was a 6 in NYSSMA.

On a scale of 1 to 6, I'd say technically the Brahms sonatas are around 5, with a few 5-1/2 bits. Musically, 10 or higher!

in Virginia its a definate 6, musicality is key, tenchique will come with it and if your attempting something like that, you should definately already have good technique.
