Question for 1010 Players

I play a B&H 1010 (ca. 1960). While it has its intonation challenges, I've been thinking that it's better to stay with "the devil you know". I've read through threads on this Board and other material that suggest that the pre-WWII versions of the 1010 were preferred by many players over the post-War versions, and it seems that it is still possible to buy them. If anyone has played or is playing the pre-WWII version of the 1010, I would appreciate their comments, especially with respect to tone, intonation and projection.

The pre-war 1010,s do seem to have a slightly different tone to
post war models.I,ve tried both but found that I prefered the later models.Certainly in the UK,post war 1010,s with the Acton Vent are
the most popular amongst the minority that don,t play Buffets.
Although players of 1010s are in the minority nowadays they are played by a lot of prominent clarinettists.
As far as tuning is concerned,they are as in tune as french bore instruments.It,s a matter of what you comfortable with.Clarinets are
not perfect instruments and they all need compensating on certain notes,at different volumes.That,s half the fun!
