I have a 7 year old son who is very interested in playing the clarinet, naturally because of his age he can't play a standard size clarinet.
I noticed on the Buffet web page they have a Schreiber D12 Childrens clarinet. Has anyone got any information or experience with this clarinet. Any information will be most appreciated.
Many thanks!

It is the Schreiber equivalent of a Kinder clari. From memory pitched in Eb with a slightly simplified fingering system. The Schreiber is a simplified Oehler system not Boehm. I don't know where you are in Australia but Schreiber can be hard to get hold of because of the projection ordering system, ie. the local importers must project a sales figure when dealing with the Boosey group who only manufacture to the projections world wide. I deal on a regular basis with 2 importers Kurt Jacob in Sydney (Prospect) and Wrights Music in Melbourne (North Fitzroy), who do not routinely order Schreiber clarinets only bassoons. They are the 2 to try for Schreiber. A Kinder-clari, simplified Boehm, is available through Ensemble Music, the Selmer importers at Northbridge or their retailers. I waited 6 months for a D61, 20 key Oehler, which did not appear and still hasn't so I bought a Yamaha 20 Key which took a couple of weeks. Schreiber have only tried the bassoon market here in Australia with some success, I use a Fox which is saying something.
