 Noblet 27 clarinet--any good?
Author: Christina

Hello,
I am looking for a clarinet for my son. I wish to buy a wood one and have found a Noblet 27 serial#26996A for sale for $385. It is at a music dealer and has all new pads & corks, plus the wood has been polished as well as the keys giving it a 'new' appearance. It will include a new case, mouthpiece, and essential accessories. I am thinking that this is a pretty good deal but would like to know if anyone else thinks so also. Thanks for any help you can give on the subject.

The Noblet 27 is a very nice clarinet and the price the music store is asking is a fair deal for an instrument in the condition you have described.

If possible, have your son's teacher try out the clarinet. In particular, you want to make sure the clarinet has good intonation (although I have yet to find a Noblet 27 with bad intonation).

Don't forget to make sure your son has a good mouthpiece also.

And check the Classifieds on this website for other clarinets.

I ran across one [only figuratively {sp}] on back, it was good [to me], playing much like my LeB L7 [1980?] ser # 43xxx. Don

I think the 27 bore was the best they've ever manufactured. I don't know why it went the way of all flesh. I guess marketing deemed it necessary.

Those Noblets are all good. You've found a good deal. I say "grab it".
