All the sax players I know think they're superb or, for the reallllly hard to please, very good (for a Tiawanese product). They're very well known out here in western North America.
My limited experience impression (I haven't played one) is that they are, mechanically, very good.

Jupiter is a well-known brand here in Europe as well. They are Taiwanese. Most Jupiter instruments would be considered good quality student instruments.

The good end of the Taiwan range. Good mechanical design. Very soft metal for body and keys, so they are not robust, and have been like this for decades. I therefore can not recommend them for school use. Posts come unsoldered quite easily. They play OK. Good pad seating. Cooperative parts availability, in NZ at any rate.

Same for their flutes.
I have found their clarinets very disappointing in many ways, but no doubt they will improve.

My middle school (6,7&8th grades) purchased two Jupiter tubas and they spent more time in the repair shop than in the students hands. Between classes, the instruments were always stored in their cases, but even with countless lectures regarding instrument care and frequent oilings, we could not prevent the valves from sticking. When the valves were functional, they were good playing tubas--but they did not "hold up" in the students hands.
