From the New York Times:
"Town President Is Convicted in Scheme to Steal $12 Million
By JOHN W. FOUNTAIN
HICAGO, Aug. 23 — A federal jury convicted the town president of Cicero and six other people today of stealing $12 million from the town, which for decades has been clouded by accusations of mob influence."
Really now, how do you think they laundered all that money?
Kaspar mouthpieces -- Cicero model, naturally!

Bryan I think your post is ill advised, Being Italian and Knowing hundreds of other Italian americans I can assure you that most Italians ARE NOT mob Connected. Think before you make any more subtle racial comments.

I'm not trying to be condecending, but I don't think Brian was making any reference to the Italian/MOB connection. It was clearly directred towards the outrageous price that Kaspar Cicero mouthpieces are going for and where that "money" ended up. If there was any reference to the Mob I think it was due to a hypersensitivity to that subject on your part.
This is not realy an appropriate subject for this board. But the reference to the mob influence was made in the article from the nwespaper, and not by Brian. So any comments should be directed towards the author of the article, not Brian. His involvment was simply relating the millions to the Kaspar/Cicero mouthpieces and the probable millions made by their sale.
In turn I'm frankly offended at your comment towards Brian. And Brian I hope you take no offence from RonD's comments towards you.

Frank, Just where does the ravioli fit in? How about chop suey or fried chicken and watermelon? It dont think that you get it!! The decendants of the immigrants that landed at plymouth rock seem to think they can offend anyone they wish. Again THINK FIRST. I am offended at your insenative analysis of this continueing insult to Italian Americans.

RonD, I am a Mayflower "immigrant" decendant and I happen to agree with you about offending Italians (or anyone, for that matter). Please do not include me in your accusations. Thank you!!!

Well Ron I'm Jewish, so I and my family have been through their share of racial troubles. However seem to just throw some things off as being non-offensive. i mean someone has to be a banker and run the bakery. I think it is important to take things with a grain of salt. i'm sure Larry wasn't meaing to imply a relation ship of the italians with the mob. A sterotype of the TV and Movie industry than actual ongoings in the world. Not all comments are made in that manner. However we must be able to put aside comments or articles like this, and jus get on with our lives. We're all too unhappy and get offended at the smallest things. I could get mad at every smal comment made about any sort of race or religion, but I wouldn't be able to concentrate on anyhting else in life.
If a comment was meant to be offensive, then that is where someon should make a comment. However in the case of larry post, I clearly see no blatent disreguard for any persons. So like was stated before. Lets just move on and live our lives. And I promise not to post anymore about this topic.

I prefer the ann Arbor Kaspars and the quietude of the --- local 7 11 store over the more boisterousness of the lowly Babitt blanked Kaspars....my two Cicero's play in perfect clarinet language....but alas are getting on in years. Never been in both spots but with the exchange rate as is I probably won't go to the US on any buying missions for years
