What is the difference between a selmer 10 and 10s? (tone...style...bore size,,etc)

Naohiko - you question might best be answered by a visit to Selmer's web site - I don't know the answer to this. It might well be that once was a wider bore instrument (like the 9 series versus the 9* series).

The last time I was at Selmers website, it didn't go into the older horns. I have several series 10's and I've tried other Selmers. I always go back to my series 10. The only other one I was impressed with was the 10R but it naturally has a darker tone. A friend of mine who is a professional player tried several newer Selmers and then tried mine and told me that mine won hands down. If you call Selmer, my experience is that you can't get past the "front door salesman". However, if you have some technical questions like bore dimensions etc that would just blow this persons mind, then ask to be transferred to their technicians who actally work on the horns. I found this to be quite effective.
