Before you buy anything on eBay, always go and check what kind of feedback they have. You can get a good idea about how they have handeled their auctions. This should give you a good place to start

I see a "Benny Goodman" Buffet clarinet on eBay that should be looked into carefully. BC20 vs. BG20. "F" serial number.

Just bought the single finest R-13 I have ever played on Ebay. BUT, I got the serial #, checked it against the "stolen" database, asked detailed questions of the seller, and got an instrument history, and read through ALL of his feedback (I would never buy and item for more than $100 with anyone with less than 50 positive feedback.) Like everything else, it is caveat emptor, but a little due dillegence can lead to spectacular results
