I just bought a Henri Lavelle??? I think. It has pretty wood. Does anyone know what the name might be. The trademark is well worn. Also, the quality, etc. Thanks for your help.

Henri Lavalle was a trade name employed by the Grossman Music Corp. The Grossman Music Corp. was run by Henry Grossman, who imported instruments and resold them under the trade names "Champion", "Champion Deluxe", "Dumain", "Hamilton", "Henri", and "Lavalle". It was started in 1921, and was in Cleveland, OH.

Now, your clarinet may be Italian or French; we'll never know.

They didn't make them; they imported and resold them, so the quality could vary immensely!
