We heard back in June that Vandoren was to update their site. Instead, it seems they are going with the same site-- and the last time it was updated was early in 2001(March). Does anyone know what is going on with the site ?

The time and expense of updating a Website is often greater than expected and the return on investment sometimes significantly less than you'd expect.

"...the last time it was updated was early in 2001(March)..."
- and it was just about that time that Vandoren decided to spend the money to "retool" their reeds and change the tip shape.
Mystery solved...GBK

anonymous...Actually I will be the first to compliment, extol the virtues of, praise or acknowledge a good effort (eg: read my posts on Amati clarinets, Gonzalez reeds, vintage Buffet clarinets, etc...)
However, I will not accept laziness of individuals, mediocre professional performances or blatant disregard for consumers by companies that have gotten too fat and happy.
High standards? You bet...GBK (who will continue to speak out)

Gee, that's strange. There's old "anonymous" again. Y'know, I can't recall anything positive having tripped off the fingers of "anonymous" at any time. At least GBK doesn't hide behind anonymity, and I have never seen him publicly castigate any person.
So, anonymous, why not just close the lid and go back to sleep.
Warmest personal regards,
John

GBK,
I for one believe you to have both integrity and honesty in your writing, and I appreciate your --- as Diz would say --- "cage rattlin" when the occasion demands it. Goodness knows, I've done a bit of that myself, and have been full-frontal flamed for it too. Sometimes I've wished for anonymous snipers, because their cowardice endears them to nobody.
Keep on truckin'. Know your posts are read and appreciated by the clarinet community all over the world.
Patrick

Patrick...Thanks and much appreciated.
Dissenting opinions are often in the minority. Some people find it a threat, and obviously can't handle it...GBK
