Looking for biographical information on Paul JeanJean that is not included in the Pamela Weston book or Tim Perry's article in the 2000 Sept issue of The Clarinet. If you can help, please do! Thanks.

Marguerite...As you've probably discovered, biographical information on Paul Jeanjean is sparse. The two sources you've already named are the most comprehensive that I've ever read.
My two suggestions would be:
1. Work "backwards", meaning instead of researching Paul Jeanjean, rather, do research on the prominent people in his life (eg: his teacher- Cyrille Rose).
2. Contact Tim Perry (at the State University of NY at Binghampton) to see if he has any further leads. Perhaps he can steer you to other sources which helped him to produce his article.
Please let us (me) know if either method produces any additional information...GBK

Jean-Jean: author of torturous right- and left-hand studies meant to drive any well-meaning artist bonkers.

I myself find some of the Jean Jean stuff someewhat hard to take...however in terms of Studies for students and learning they are very fine. Thanks GBK for the date---I just don't know where my back issues are.
