 LEBLANC Model L27Bb
Author: Denny G

Does anyone know about the Leblanc Model L27Bb Clarined. I'm told it is a Professional instrument, but don't find any info about it at the Leblanc site or elsewhere.

I would appreciate any info or recommendations regarding this horn.

Thanks.

Sherman Friedland speaks positively about the L27 in this article:

I had an L27 briefly, selling it to an advancing student. While I didn't measure its UJ bore sizes, I believe it is an earlier ['60-70's] model LeBlanc which became the L7, cylindrical, medium bore 14.8 mm, very good competition with the Selmer 9/10's and R 13's. For me, it was very similar to my L7 [picked out by a pro!] in intonation and excellent fingering-feel. In short, a VG horn for all-around playing. I'd suggest having a cl-playing repairer look/play it, to see if it needs some "tweaking". Congrats, Don
