more questions on music

hey all!
ive started playing with a bunch of other musicians recently.i play clar, there r 2 flutes and a double bass player. 1 of the flutes plays cello also. we havnt a clue where to get music that we can all play w/o heaps of problems tranposing etc. can any1 suggest something. jazz clasical r modern (ie beatles etc) any help wud really b apreciated

Did you stop at the 'Fake Book' posts below, UniqueMusician? Lots of different combinations work out well with a few easy-play tunes and a little creativity.
Local libraries are good sources for Folk Song books, Broadway Hits, Old Time Melodies, Best of the Beatles, etc.
With your particular outfit, as of now, you're the only one who needs to transpose. Good chance to develop the skill if you haven't already or brush up on it if you have

However, if you have major bluffing skills, you can take the score, suck air between the teeth like a plumber about to tell you how much it's going to cost you, and say "You guys have an awful lot of transposing down one tone to do."

It could be years before they realise...

It's kind of tough (read: "impossible") for the flutes, but in other circumstances when you are playing only with strings, it's quite practical to tune the string instruments to the clarinet, thus producing B-flat pitch string instruments. All can then play fron C charts, and all will be well. Unless the string players have perfect pitch, no one is likely to notice. Alternatively, buying a C-pitch clarinet, except for the cost, will simplify things for you.
