Check the Compositions section on this site and you'll find quite a few.

The Compositions site is a good, but not complete, selection of works - surprising in fact how much is missing.

In addition to the above mentioned works, here are some more (all trios w/piano):

Bartok, Contrasts
Ives, Largo
Ponchielli, Paolo and Virginia
Stravinsky, Soldier's Tale

The Ponchielli is hard to find, but not impossible. I got mine from theexcellent Amsterdam music shop: Broekmans en van Poppel, http://www.broekmans.com/

Not surprising when you think that it was done during two years worth of "spare time" ...

I depend on people sending in additions and corrections to keep it going.

Larry,

If you feel the composition site is incomplete, add your two cents to it. Just e-mail Mark the info.

We are all effusive in our praise of Mark for maintaing the BB as we should be, but I don't think any of us can fully appreciate what an tedious and thankless job it is putting together and maintaining a data base like those available to us through woodwind.org, and besides, they're free!!

Thanks Mark.

I tend to gravitate towards lesser known or new works that aren't too weird. For Clarinet, Violin and Piano i have two favorites...

I performed the Hans Gal Trio, op.97 last semester. Was alot of fun and i believe it is probably the best trio for this instrumentation of all time. The parts are a bit pricy, but it's well worth it.

Another favorite is Daniel Foley's Hommage a Henri Rousseau. This piece was composed only a year or so ago, for Steve Fox (the clarinet maker) and his ensemble. This has 2 middle movements for Bass clarinet, and two outer movements for A clarinet. Dan's work is available throughthe Canadian Music Centre.

Both of these works along with the Khatchaturian Trio are on their CD entitled Foliage. I know it's available through Tap Music.

Of course, i love the Milhaud as well. The Bartok and Stravinsky are not for the faint of heart. I know i certainly don't have the time it would take to put either of them together.

Best of Luck,
Daniel

There is "Links" for clarinet, violin and piano by Allan Blank.

I'm not sure who the publisher is as I have a copy from him.

Allan Blank has many fun, very good, interesting pieces for clarinet solo, duets, trios and clarinet with various combinations of other instruments.
