i've been almost messing up this board with newbie posts, so sorry but i really need help on this one.
i've brushed my teeth and washed my hands before assembling my first clarinet, and have used the cork oil to rub it on the corks twice today when i assembled/deassembled/reassembled it. when i deassembled it, i used that cloth thing that came with it to clean all the good stuff inside the clarinet
did i forget anything? and are there any tips of taking care of clarinets, especially ebonite ones, if they need to be differently taken care of?
thanks

I would watch out for using the swab (the cloth thing that came with it) to clean the mouthpiece. I always recommend to my students that they use cotton swabs to clean the mouthpiece. Frequently beginner's swabs have a metal weight that isn't covered by fabric, and these can wreak havoc on the tips and rails of mouthpieces. Even with the better quality swabs available, I still use the ol' Q-Tips for mp cleaning!
