I would like to attend a show at the Metropolitan Opera this year. Before ordering tickets, I was wondering what you guys think a good place to sit would be?
Thanks for the input,

Joe... If you can't get my first choice (listed above), try the Grand Tier (between #101 - #128) or Dress Circle (between #101 - #130) ...GBK

GBK,
I never thought of that! Being older than Ricardo would entitle me to seniority in the seating you would think. ;~)
Thanks

Isn't seating decided by how "heavy" you are. Ricardo wins!!!!

Being a student, I find myself right at home in the Family Cirlce up in the "nosebleed" seats. For $25 bucks or so during the week this is a great place to sit, that way I can go and see more operas! If cost is no problem, heck go for orchestra prime or the front grand tier! But I think that many of these seats go to subscribers and businesses. I think that single tickets go on sale pretty soon, the middle to end of August. I know I will be standing in line for tickets to the new production of Les Troyens!

diz,
There is virtually a different show every day from the Opening Night Gala on September 23 to May 3rd this year. At quick glance there appears to be six different shows per month! We are going to attend the Season Premiere of "Don Giovanni"!!!!
The Met. has a good web site at... http://www.metopera.org/
This page was also fun: http://www.metopera.org/synopses/.
When I called earlier today the people I spoke with were very helpful and friendly.
Brandon,
I too am at home in the "nose bleed" seats, but am going to splurge a little for better seats as this is our (my wife and I) Christmas present to each other.
Best,

Joe - Don Giovanni,
I'm envious - the Met Orchestra is one of the BEST - from the nose bleed seats you'll have ample opporunity to pear into the pit and salivate.
