Malcolm
I only found your response to my notice to day. i have found another chap that has a Lucian Bassi. I am interested to note that you have two. The only new information i have found is that they were mass produced for the sole import to UK by J Heyworth and Son. It is recorded in a book entitled An Index of Musical Instrument Makers By Lyndsey g Langwill OBE it states Lucian Bassi (trade name)modern clarinets of continenta origin? bear this name and were retailed by Heyworth, Blackpool (q.v.) I don't know what the qv stands for. The other chap has a serial number on his one. Perhaps you could tell me what you know about htem and what markings there are on yours and whether yours are in playing condition. I bought mine in an auction for £85 and spent £65 having it re corked and serviced.
Hope to hear from you.
Kind regards Allan
